10.9.10.
De La Salle University’s 159th Commencement Exercises.
I’ve waited 17 years and 6 months for this day to come. Finally, I am officially done with my education.
I woke up around 6AM and I was really excited for this day. I tried to eat as much as I can but my tummy won’t accept food so I decided to just take a bath. We left the house around 7:15AM and we got there around 7:20. OO, malapit lang ako sa PICC. When we got there, some of my friends are waiting outside of the PICC. I joined them and they helped me get dress. Marko took some pictures and then we decided to go in. Once we got there, I was so surprised to see Sir Bert, calling my name. Shit seryoso, natouch ako dito because last night, I was commenting to some pics where Sir Bert was included and I was so jealous because of that. He really waited. Mahal ko tong tatay ko na to.
We had some pictures then we all went inside. BUT. I thought I was able to bring my ID with me and all of the sudden, I forgot that I placed it in the compartment of our car so I decided to call up my sister and asked for the keys. I rushed to the car to get my ID. Okay, define PAWIS. The moment I got in, the former Presidents of the Student Council were all waiting for me. Oh, I love you guys. We took some pictures then joined our college and started to line up. Had some picture taking with ECE106. Nabitin ako. I want more!
Then we started walking. We all gave our FINAL BOW. My feet were shaking because this will be the last(if I won’t take MBA) time I’ll be having this kind of ceremony. Then the ceremony commenced.
Good thing I was sitting with the craziest people in the planet namely, Alvin, Danica and Julius. We really some good laugh while waiting for our college’s turn to be called because the ceremony was kinda long. But before that, the students with Honors and Special awards were called. I was part of that group. I am a recipient of the Student Leadership Award. While I was walking, all I can think of is my Engineering College Assembly, the Student Council, and my Mom. I am so happy getting this award.
I was looking for Vice Dean and when I saw him, I mouthed him the Words, Thank you for all the helped he has given me for the past year. The smile and nod of vice dean made me smile even more. Before my name was called, Ms. Fritzie looked at me, I also mouthed the same words and she gave me a smile before saying my name. It was such an honor. I also did the same with Dean. Then I went to my mom and she was the one who placed the medal. I saw how happy she was. That was more than enough for me. I went back to my seat and then, another long wait.
One by one. The colleges were called. When COE was called, the parents started clapping their hands! I shivered in an instant.
Then the diplomas, well, actually dummies, were distributed with a pin of DLSU. A gift from Brother President. He even said my nickname while giving the diploma and pin and said I am so proud of you. WOW. THAT WAS REALLY SOMETHING.
THREE HOURS. THREE MEMORABLE HOURS.
Finally, we sang the Alma Mater song with heads high.
We had some picture taking. This was the craziest picture taking ever! Flashes everywhere! We were like celebrities! My mom met some of the parents of my closest friends. The people who helped me in my little adventure.
After everything, my family went to Circles in Shangri-La to celebrate. YUM!
I really had fun today MEMORABLE INDEED.
Engineering College Assembly, I will not get tired of taking you every single moment I think about this event. I AM, AND WILL ALWAYS BE, GRATEFUL TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.
Congratulations DLSU Graduates Batch 2010!
